SunMed Labs Lemon Skunk THCa Isolate Review

By Stan Whitley

SunMed is now in their 5th year of operation as a licensed cannabis company. Just recently however, SunMed has started dipping their toes into the waters of making concentrates. At the end of 2021 is when patients first saw what SunMed Labs had to offer and let me tell you; they did not disappoint. Considering they were one of the first companies in the Maryland cannabis scene, I was very surprised it took them as long as it did to make an appearance on the concentrate side of the market but it was well worth the wait.

One product I have been really enjoying is the Lemon Skunk THCa isolate. This specific type of concentrate is often testing with a THCa content in the mid to high 90% range. It is usually tasteless and odorless due to the lack of terpenes that come from a pure focus on getting the highest THCa content. Another way you could benefit from this specific product is to pump up the potency of the flower you already have by mixing the isolate with the flower. Personally, I enjoy using the isolate to create my own infused joints. All you must do is sprinkle however much you would like to use on top of the flower, put your mixture of isolate and flower in your paper, and then roll your joint just like you always do. If you are more of dry-pipe or water-pipe kind of user, then feel free to mix your isolate with your flower and put it right on in your favorite pipe!

Now if you’re reading this and are wondering what the difference between THC and THCa are, don’t worry, I can explain that for you. THC is the main psychoactive component of the cannabis plant whereas THCa is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid. The reason why THCa does not give us the “high” feeling usually associated with cannabis is because at a molecular level, the three-dimensional shape of the THCa molecule does not fit properly into our endocannabinoid system. Once the THCa molecule has been heated up, that is when the psychoactive effects start to happen due to the molecule changing shape and fitting perfectly into our endocannabinoid system.

 THCa:

  • Relieves inflammation
  • Neuroprotectant
  • Stimulates appetite
  • Slows proliferation of cancerous cells
Used to treat:
  • Arthritis
  • Seizures
  • Anorexia
  • Parkinsons
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Cachexia
